Estr é s laboral entre profesores de escuela: una revisi ó n sistem á tica de la literatura

Las y los alumnos de las y los profesores de secundaria son adolescentes. Los niveles de estr
és aumentan durante la adolescencia,
que puede ser una é poca de ansiedad, tensi ó n, tormentas emocionales y conflictos. Como consecuencia, las y los profesores
experimentan también un estr é s excesivo que repercute en todos los aspectos de su vida. 1 El objetivo de esta revisi ó n es conocer
mejor el nivel de estr é s que sufren las y los educadores, también c ó mo afecta su rendimiento en el trabajo, así como las
estrategias que utilizan para gestionarlo. En esta investigación se estudio a fondo la bibliograf í a de investigaciones anteriores en
revistas, art í culos de investigaci ó n, tesis y disertaciones doctorales, id entificando 21 estudios pertinentes, realizados en India y en
el extranjero. Se utiliz ó un muestreo intencional y una lista de comprobaci ó n modificada de la
CriticaAppraisalSkillsPrograms (CASP , Programas de Evaluación de Habilidades Críticas) para analizar los datos extra í dos. La
revisi ó n puso de manifiesto que las y los profesores de secundaria experimentan niveles de estr é s laboral entre moderados y
graves. El gran n ú mero de estudiantes por clase, los problemas para controlar su comportamiento, la falta de oportunidades de
desarrollo profesional y de interacci ó n entre el personal, así como de tiempo para debatir el plan de estudios, de
satisfacción intrí nseca y de material did á ctico ú til, son fuentes de estr é s; tambi é n afecta su rendimiento una remuneraci ó n
i nadecuada. Para hacer frente a su estr é s, las y los profesores recurrieron a comportamientos compensatorios como dormir, ver la
televisi ó n, hablar con amigos, escuchar m ú sica, ir de compras y viajar a lugares de belleza natural. Esta revisi ó n puso de
manif iesto la necesidad de reducir el estr é s de las y los profesores, ya que, estresados, son menos capaces de instruir al
estudiantado con eficacia y de crear un entorno propicio para un lograr un aprendizaje estimulante y atractivo.
